Areim is now looking for a Senior Investment Professional with group leader responsibility to join and lead part of the Investments team in Sweden. In this role, you will not only bring your deep investment expertise but also inspire and guide group of professionals within our broader team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping investment strategies, manage deal executions, providing mentorship, and fostering collaboration to drive the team’s success.

THE ROLE
As a Senior Investment Professional with group leader responsibility, you will source and work with investment opportunities in Sweden and thereby contribute strongly to the business performance. You and the team strive to identify investment opportunities with attractive growth potential as well as carrying out successful divestments from time to time. The focus is to implement and develop the strategy of current and future funds and products. To thrive in this role you have strategic experience and a good understanding of market conditions, deep industry knowledge as well as company fundamentals. Areim carries out asset management intensive investments, including both properties and companies, where strong “hands-on” value-creation skills are necessary. The entire Swedish investment team consists of fifteen highly competent and driven investment professionals. You will have a formal leadership responsibility over a part of the team and report to Head of Investments Sweden. The position is based at the Areim’s head office at Regeringsgatan 30-32 in Stockholm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Provide an inspiring and sustainable leadership to the colleagues you have formal leadership responsibility for as well as for the wider investment team in co-operation with Head of Investments Sweden;
  • Proactively source and lead acquisition processes and preparation of recommendation to the Investment Committee;
  • Identify key issues on transactions, give advice and suggest solutions;
  • Manage all aspects of deal execution, including working effectively with both internal deal team members and external such as legal, technical, tax and financial experts;
  • Assess specific markets risks and opportunities, maximize return on investments, and optimize cash flows;
  • Work together with the finance, fund management and asset management teams regarding portfolio related matters including additional investments in current holdings as well as disposition opportunities;
  • Hold presentations to multi-disciplinary groups including e.g. internal committees, external debt providers, and external joint venture partners, investors, etc.

YOUR PROFILE
We are searching for a humble team player and business creator with a passion for investments and value creation. You appreciate the entrepreneurial environment where everything is possible if you take responsibility. You enjoy talking to senior management at large international investors while also being able to lead and motivate the team members to do their best to carry out what is needed in each investment. We assume that you have a strong academic record and a genuine interest of the real estate- and finance sectors, experience in generating, executing and managing complex transactions as well as enjoy direct interaction with market participants and investors. A suitable profile is described below.

Experiences

  • Solid minimum 10 year property experience with a focus on transactions, both acquisitions and sales, and business development;
  • Extended and well-maintained network in the industry;
  • The following experiences are highly valued:
  • Generating/sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and leading complex property transactions;
  • Setting up investment platforms or club deals for further growth and thereby working in the intersection between transaction execution and capital raising; and
  • Taking active part in listing, de-listing or mergers of real estate companies.

Education

  • Relevant academic degree, where a master’s degree in real estate, finance or business administration is preferred

Leadership & personal qualities

  • Genuinely interested in developing your own and the team’s leadership to contribute to Areim’s success. Previous responsibility of staff is valued;
  • Business-minded with strong drive and implementation skills, as well as the ability to independently drive processes and keep transaction momentum high;
  • High social competence with the ability to build long-term sustainable relationships; and
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with good analytical skills and strategic insight.
